Matthew's two month well baby visit was today - he checked out beautifully again!
2 month stats:
Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz (50% percentile)
Height: 22.25 inches (50% percentile)
Head: something that is just slightly above 50% percentile
So once again a very proportional baby! Dr. Morgan said we couldn't have planned him better! lol
He got his shot today - and did really well actually. He got his rotovirus liquid stuff first and he took that like a champ. He knawed on the syringe like it was something good. The shot was next and he cried for about 3 seconds and that was that. Thank goodness! I'm so glad we only have to do 1 or 2 at a time. Makes it easier on me, AND it makes me feel better that we are doing the right things for him to help prevent any triggers for developmental delays. (My main thing is that if he does end up with a delay, then I know in my mind we did what we could to prevent and if it happens then there are no doubts in my mind....not that anything is wrong now, but that genetic link is there so just being cautious!).
So proud of my little guy for doing so well today!
Ok the house update...The morning we were supposed to go look at that house, I got a call from our realtor who told me that the house had caught on fire. Yes I did type that correctly. There had been lots of rain here, and there was a storm which caused lightening which hit the fuse box and caused a fire to go into the attic and roof. The BRAND NEW roof put in 2 weeks ago. Oh, and it caused the entire house to lose power. The WHOLE house...not just a few appliances. We talked to an electrician about this and he told us to stay away because there is no way they could replace all the wiring in the house, and for sure there will be somewhere that the wiring is fried from the strike, which could potentially cause a fire eventually. Needless to say, we are done with that house. Too bad.
The night before, I'd prayed that God would give me a sign so I would know if this was the right thing to do. Seriously! Well, I sure got my sign! lol
But, it's been like this the whole time - every house we've looked at so far as either had something wrong with it or with the land, or in a bad location, etc. It just seems like God is just steering us around - either just waiting until it's the right house, or we are just not supposed to move at all. Time will tell. The other thing we are working on is getting a loan. We REALLY need a USDA loan - it's a 100% financed load. All the houses in Martin Co are USDA. Now Brian and I just have to be approved for it...but I'm worried that we make too much money to be approved. We are not rolling in money by any means, but we are middle class for sure. Not enough to be considered rich, too much to be considered poor. Anyway, the other loan option is a regular FHA loan, which would require us to put 3.5% down. As we are going to just barely break even on our house, this is pretty unlikely that that will happen. I mean, how many people have $5,000 to $7,000 sitting around! This is what is wrong with the housing market. People like Brian and I who have NEVER missed a payment or bill and have good jobs, and can't get a new loan because we don't have a wad of cash sitting around. But people who miss payments, etc can get government help. Crazy.
Anyway, we are going Sunday to look at 2 more houses. And Monday we hope to know if we qualified for the USDA. Keep your fingers crossed.
