20 weeks! Yeah! Halfway there!
Baby M is supposed to be the size of a cantelope today. ;) He has sleep patterns that are similar to a newborn and has a favorite sleeping position. I'd say based on his u/s a few weeks ago, he is a stomach sleeper because that's how he went to sleep during the u/s. That will have to change once he's born...hope he doesn't mind too much! And in his "man parts", the testes are decending from the abdomen into the scrotum...hopefully....cause I'd hate for him to have surgery for this later. Other than that, most of his time will be spent gaining weight. He is roughly 10.5 oz now (getting ever so close to the 1 lb mark), but I have a feeling weighs a wee bit more, since he was 8 oz 3 weeks ago.
We had an fun and exciting weekend to share:
People, there is a crib in my house.
It's so weird (in an incredibly good way) to walk by the room and see a crib sitting in there. When you dream of something and picture something like that for years, it's pretty amazing to actually see it. Brian spent yesterday putting the crib and the dresser/changer combo together. It looks great! Just like the pictures! So, the room is still quite a mess - still alot of *stuff* to put somewhere else. Salvation army is coming this week to pick up some stuff that we don't need, and one of my friends is going to take my old prom dresses (yes I still have them!) for her daughter. Our friend/neighboor down the street took the mattress and frame that was in that room, so it's getting cleaned out ever so slowly!
The agenda for baby stuff this week is to order the crib mattress. We are going organic on that - it just makes sense for us to do it that way. That will be the only thing we will probably go organic on. But, to me - it's pretty important since he will be spending alot of time on that mattress.
4 more weeks to go until viability. I'm hoping that M's higher weight currently will be of benefit to meeting viability sooner??? Is that how it works?? Maybe not...just wishful thinking.
Yesterday was kinda a sweet but bitter day. Yesterday was my due date for my 3rd angel baby Owen. It was a little strange, because I try to imagine myself big enough for a due date with that one, but I can't. And, it's hard to be too sad because I have little M growing inside my belly. So, I'm sad for that little one who didn't really have a chance, but then I wouldn't have Matthew. So, it's kinda weird. I guess this baby is just meant to be with us right now, and the others just weren't right, or it wasn't the right time or whatever. All in God's time....
Thank God for Matthew...I hope the love that we give to this baby will show him how much he is loved and wanted, even before he was even conceived.

awww. you guys are going to be great parents and so full of love. i said in my nigel barker interview that being pregnant has given me a whole new meaning to love at first sight. i guess for you it was love at first thought. ;)
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to send some things your way this weekend so you can go through what you want to keep. I'll try to call you first so you can say yes/no to the bigger stuff before it leaves.
