Matthew is the size of an eggplant this week. The big thing this week is that his eyes are opening! They've been sealed shut for a while now, but they are going to open this week. His eyes are blue. And I know this for a fact because all babies eyes are blue when they're born - they'll change to whatever color they will be several months after he's born. His equilibrium is also getting better - he is starting to distingish up, upside down, and side to side. Which makes since as he kicks the crap out of me when I lay on my side. Apparently, he doesn't like it. ;) He also gets mad when I slouch over and don't sit up straight. He kicks and kicks me till I give him more room, and then he quits. haha. And of course he's continuing to pack on the fat (though he is still skinny - has a ways to go!) and get more pink than red.
Brian painted the armiore this weekend - primed and painted. Still smells a little in there, so the door is being kept closed for now. I think I'm going to pop the windows in the room open tomorrow so it can air out a bit more. I got the valance in today, and 3 out of 4 lanters, so I should be able to get that up tomorrow, or this weekend. Oh, and we DID make it to the Pigskin Pigout and to the Purpld/Gold game this past Saturday. :) Yay for not getting called in!
So my interview did not happen today. I got a call from the manager's secretary this morning and she had to cancel because she got pulled into staffing. It's ok with me, because at least I know that the manager can actually work on the unit. That has been an issue at other places I've worked, so I'm taking that as a good sign. :) I don't know when we'll reschedule. Hopefully soon.
In other BIG news: People, I'm done with my Master's degree!!! Well, it's not "official" until May 7th, but there is no more school work left to turn in. I don't feel relaxed yet. I guess it will take a bit for me to actually realize that there really is nothing left for me to do. So, tomorrow I don't know what I'm going to do. My new plans for time off include getting this house straight, finishing up the nursery, and cooking some. I haven't actually cooked a meal in....a really really long time. I'm sure Brian will be happy to actually have home cooked food in the house again. It's been a lot of sandwiches lately and any other random thing you can find to eat. It's still kinda crazy that I won't have deadlines to meet or papers to write anymore. It's been 3 years of full time working with 3/4 time school. Even though I have no current plans right now to actually use this degree, it's ok. The degree will be there when I want to use it. I do hope ECU remembers me when I do go to looking for a job. Everybody I teach with there asks if I am interested in teaching with them because they think I'm good at it. ;) It's very sweet. Being involved with Sigma will definitely help keep in touch with them...thank goodness!
