My appointment today went fine. My blood pressure is still good, my urine was fine (trace of protein, but it's been consistent the last few times now and it's not getting worse so no worries). I had to drink that kinda gross orange drink this morning for my glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. It kinda tasted like a Sunkist, but the fact that you had to drink it in 5 mintues or less made it difficult. It was like heartburn for about 10 minutes. I also didn't know if I was going to be able to keep it down because I don't have a good history of oranges and orange juice during this pregnancy, but it stayed down. So, they drew my blood too from my trusty vein in my right arm. That vein is pretty awesome. It's been stuck God knows how many times and it's still a good one, so far. They got out the measuring tape too and measured my uterus. And just like usual, the top of my uterus is measuring at 27 weeks rather than 26. :) At least Matthew's growing and growing consistently. I don't really think much in the way of new stuff is going on this week. His eyes are open now (not ALL the time - he does sleep!), and he's got vernix stuff on his body (waxy stuff to protect his skin), and he is well over 2 lbs now - not sure how much over. An average size baby (7 1/2 lbs at birth) is just over 2 lbs now. So I'm guessing he is at least 2 1/2, inching closer to 3 would be my guess. And he's about 15 1/2 to 16 inches long. According to the books, he's got an 85% chance of survival now if he were born now. That's pretty good odds. Although I'm much more relaxed now that he has a shot, the worry is still there - but I think that is very normal for any pregnant lady. He basically looks like a newborn baby now - just very very skinny and short! He needs some more time to build up the fat and grow longer!

I forgot to add 2 things to the things that I know about Matthew so far that I wrote about yesterday:

4. He likes music. At church on Easter, he would not stop moving! Everytime there was singing, he'd move and move and move. Like, he was excited to hear it or something. This is what lead me to the conclusion that he didn't like noise, because he gets so still. But, maybe it's the opposite! Maybe he likes the noise and hates the music! haha I don't know. If the movement = likes, then he likes the Black Eyed Peas. Seriously. This kid will not have moved at all, and then put on a Black Eyed Peas song, and he starts kicking or punching me. It's pretty cute.

5. When he moves alot one day, he is pretty quiet in movement the next. Like today, he's moved so much. Tomorrow, he'll be pretty quiet most of the day cause he's worn himself out. Always happens like that. Never fail. I mean, he moves - but, it's only a few times a day for just a little bit. Not like today where I swear it's been about all day.

I forgot to inquire about the 4D ultrasound - but Brian and I will need to discuss our schedules so we can both make that one together before we schedule it. I'm at the point now where my appointments are getting closer together, so my next appointment is in 3 weeks.

So, here are the updated pictures of the nursery. Just waiting on the shower now!

The rest of the week is work and then fun on the weekend! The alumni game is supposed to be on Saturaday afternoon - if it doesn't get canceled. And then we are going to hang out with our old neighbors Sat night (they just had a baby in January), and the Sunday is my neice and nephews 5th birthday and birthday party! Fun Fun!

On a quick note before I'm done with this post, Matthew is currently on my left side of my belly and I'm pretty sure he's sticking his butt out or either he's back is right there! It's really hard and my belly is lop sided! haha ;)
