Well, Matthew has turned 1 month old this past Friday. It's strange because in some ways its seems like that long, but in other ways it's hard to believe I gave birth to him over a month ago.
He is such a cutie pie. When he was 3 weeks old, we went to my daddy's house and got a few pictures done. We were there for several hours, but Matthew was not a happy person that day, so we did the best we could on getting pictures. We will have to go back soon to finish up because we don't have a family picture yet, other than the hospital picture when I was looking all crazy. lol
The newest thing Matthew does is smile and coo. He started smiling at 3 weeks old, and his coo came just before 4 weeks. I have the absolute cutest video of him cooing and smiling but it's on my phone, and the file is too big to download unless I get near a WiFi. So, at some point this week, I'll have to go find a WiFi and see if I can upload it to YouTube. I can't wait for people to see it because it's the cutest thing ever! I've watched it 10 times probably, and it never gets old. ;)
Matthew and me have had a few trips out and about. He has been to 2 birthday parties, been to the hair dresser with me, and we've been to Target. He has done so good when we are out so far. It also helps that he is good at taking a bottle, so I pump before we go out and take it with me so it'll be easy to feed him if I need to while we are out. Much less stressful then trying to take my nipple shield and cover.
Matthew has his 1 month appointment on Wednesday this week. Can't wait to see how much he weighs now! I bet he is around 10 lbs or so. He is done with newborn sizes. 0-3 fits well, and a few 3 months, but some 3 months are still too big. I hope he stays with the sizes cause it will make life easy when trying to buy clothes on discount ahead of time.
On tap for this week: Trip to Williamston to see a friend (if she's not at the hospital having her baby!), trip to Brian's school, Matthew's appointment, and maybe a football game on Friday night. Maybe.
Picture of Matthew on Friday August 27th at 1 month old!
Alison, I think I can help you get off that nipple shield if I can ever get a chance to get over there! I can't wait to see you both this weekend!! I want to give him lots of kisses.
