Good news and bad news.
The bad news is, I caved in cycle 2. I couldn't hang with the carbs and it got the best of me.
The good news is, I've lost 11 lbs and maintained it over the past 2 weeks while I've not been doing things textbook perfect. The good news also is that I've learned something else about myself. If I cheat ONCE, I slide. But, obviously since I didn't gain any back, I did a good job at watching what I ate during the day then splurged some at dinner. I'm also learning that it's impossible to be perfect, and ok to do things in moderation. I.e. once every couple of weeks is moderation for me. Maybe once a week at best.
So, I'm 11 lbs down. I weight 197.6 as of yesterday. I started back on cycle 1 on Tuesday so I'm on day 3. I figured I'd just go right back to 1 and start over. Hoping to lose another 6 lbs...more would be great but it might not be as effective on the second round. We will see I guess.
On another note, I had my OB/GYN annual appt today with my AWESOME OB Dr Gay. We talked for a while about things. We talked about me being overweight (he calls me obese) and how I've lost 11 lbs, which he's stoked about. He asked the BIG question, "So, are you thinking about getting pregnant again?"
What a loaded question! We talk for a while about things. Basically, whenever Brian and I are ready, Dr. G will let me take the meds I want to try which is Femura and/or tamoxifen. Going to try without steriods. If I don't ovulate, then steriods it will be. He's going to test me for insulin resistance next week (which no one has EVER before, GO FIGURE). So, I'm happy with that. That way if I need the metformin, I'll go ahead and get back on it. He has the knowledge to manage me I think. He also said I can go see Dr. Jordan (NOT Dr. Hayslip) if or when I wanted. It makes me happy to know that I DON'T have to do clomid if I don't want to and that there are other options for me other than IVF. :)
BUT FIRST, Dr. G agrees with me that the meds will work better if I lose weight so I'm going to keep losing first. Then maybe summer or fall or whenever, we will start cycling again. I'm not sure I'm ready yet myself - sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not. So I don't know. it will still be a while yet.
