Yesterday was a "pregnant day". That means I felt like crap all day. I threw up in the morning at work (nice...) and I had a major headache all day and I was SO tired all day. I had to take a Zofran (this is for nausea) after I ate lunch (which was a bowl of cereal I forced down - took me 30 mintutes) so I wouldn't throw that up. Cereal was my staple yesterday - breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Today I've felt better. Nausea comes and goes but not too bad. Headache was gone this morning but it comes and goes throughout the day. And feeling tired still but not as exhausted as yesterday. So yes, I better feeling day.

In non-baby news:

DH's great aunt died yesterday (his grandma's sister). So, her funeral is this weekend. She had lung/liver/spine, etc cancer. She was a nice old lady, but tended to give me a hard time in the first several years I knew her. We all thought she had a "crush" on DH and she was jealous of me, so that's why she gave me a hard time. She loosened up in the last couple of years though. When she found out I was pregnant, she was very happy and said that she was glad because we needed someone to "take her place". Kinda sweet and kinda sad at the same time.

This other lady I know died last week and I just found out about it yesterday too. She was a PA (physician's assistant) in cardiac surgery where I used to work. Only 39 y/o. She got pneumonia and basically it took over her body and her body shut down. I had heard last Tuesday she was not doing well. She died the next day (Wed). I didn't know until yesterday when I went and looked on the MICU patient list and she wasn't there. I then went to the Greenville obituaries and there it was. She was an an awesome person. I was working CSICU when she was hired. I was a new grad and hadn't been working that long. She had moved from NYC (originally from Jamaica). This lady was one of the smartest people I've ever met. She was great to work with because when you had questions she took the time to explain it to you - something a new nurse needs. And she was alot of fun to talk to and hang out with. She would have parties at her house for all the staff alot too. She was great, and will be missed by a lot of people, and missed by patient's who would have greatly benefited from her care.

Ok - that's all the sad stuff. My cat is in heat. The new one, you know? If you have never been around a cat in heat, DON'T! They are crazy and they pee on everything! This cat has peed on our bed several times, and now that we've locked her out of our bedroom, she has started peeing on the couches. So, DH bought some plastic drop cloths and we have covered our couches. It looks like an old person house. So, once the cat get's over this spell, we will get her spaid. I've had cats my whole life, and have never experienced this before. She's wild! She makes this weird mating call noise, sticks her butt way up in the air, pees on stuff to make her scent known that she's "ready" and runs all over the house. I had no idea this would happen. And this is the first and last time, so the cat better enjoy it now!

Other than that, my mom's about an hour away taking care of my grandpa while my grandma recovers from her knee replacement surgery. She's just down for the week, so I'm going to drive over there tomorrow to visit. Haven't seen her since August I think??? Apparently she's bought some baby stuff and mommy stuff... :)

I got some receiving blankets from a very close friend who should just be considered family. :) They are really nice - gender neutral (green and browns and white). Other than what my mom has bought that I'm getting tomorrow, it's the first present! I've not bought anything yet...still kinda scared too. I probably won't until I find out if boy or girl.

Oh, the other preg girl at work is having a girl! I was SO wrong! I'm 1 for 2. I got one right and one wrong (the other girl is having a boy).

Well, guess that's it. Hope you've enjoyed this book tonight! :) haha

  1. It took me a really long time to buy baby stuff. I don't know why it felt so strange, even know that he is here it still feels surreal shopping for baby toys and what nots. Enjoy looking for stuff...and don't forget about sites like ebay (we got a great deal on our bedding there that was dicontinued and "New in box")and craigslist!
