It snowed!
Sort of.
Ok, mostly sleet. So far we got 1 1/2 in. of snow and another 2 inches of sleet. Talk that it might turn into freezing rain and then back to snow. That is going to be nice for travel. ;P. It's COLD though - like 28 degrees - so it's kinda weird it's sleeting and may rain and it's that cold. The weather men explained it something like upper atomsphere is cold, then the middle is warmer so snow melts to rain, then refreezes before it hits ground. In the case of freezing rain, it doesn't refreeze before it hits the ground so it comes down as rain, but the ground is below freezing so it will freeze on contact and become ice.
There is your science lesson for the day. :)
It's really too bad that it's not all snow because we would have a big pile of it. Oh well. At least it's something pretty to look at.
Still been sick, but yesterday and *so far* today have been much better. I do feel a little queezy now but it's not too bad yet. I've eaten Habichi shrimp 2 nights in a row now. SO good. Steamed rice and zuccini/onions and shrimp with white sauce. yum!
Brace yourself for this next statement: DH and I are thinking about moving back to Williamston. And you are not hallucinating. You read that correctly.
It just makes sense really. DH works and coaches in Williamston, and his mom and dad live there. My dad lives there. I only work 3 days a week (12 hour shifts) and DH works 5, but goes to Williamston 6 days a week. It's just silly for him to drive that much. And it would be so nice for our baby to have his/her grandparents around. I never had that. DH has very fond memories of spending time and weekends with his grandparents. It just makes sense. So we looked at a house last week, which we LOVED but the yard was the deal breaker (as in ground sinking and sink holes). There is not much real estate in Williamston...it's either really old non-updated houses, or houses that are $400,000 out of budget. haha. So we are now thinking about building out in Farmlife. No city taxes. We were going to meet a builder today, but since it's snowing/sleeting etc. that kinda feel through. Right now we are just looking at floor plans/blueprints because he can build us whatever we want. This builder is currently building DH's best friend's house and doing a great job. So...we'll see what happens!
Pretty exciting that you get to look at blueprints. That would be fun!
ReplyDeleteI see you still have power since you were able to post. Glad today is better with the sickies.
